The kite runner

Over this summer I read the book The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. This book is about a boy named Amir keeping a secret from his family and friends. This secret affects him drastically and changes they way he acts. Hassan is their servant; he and his dad help Amir’s family out by cleaning cooking and by doing many other things. Hassan is amirs’ best friend; they have known each other their whole lives. In this book Amir and Hassan run into some troubles when they are kids. One trouble is Assef he is a bully to Amir and Hassan, he picks on Hassan because He is a hazara. Assef is very mean to them and threatens to hurt them. Later on in the book something happens to Hassan that changes his life. Amir knows what happens but he is a shamed because he didn’t stand up for his friend.

Soon comes the fall of the monarchy and Amir and his dad realize its time to leave the country. They had to sneak out with the help of one of Amir’s dad’s friend. Even though they leave the country the burden of the secret he is keeping comes with him. Soon enough they arrive in North America in the United States of America. In America he finds himself getting married. But even more happens when he gets a phone call from an old friend in Afghanistan.

This book immediately grabs you with its interesting plot. It shows the hardships that one might have to deal with in his or her life, but puts them to extremes. Amir feels morally wrong for keeping that secret so he goes back to Afghanistan to redeem himself. But in such a way that makes him get into chaos with one of the most famous people in Afghanistan. I suggest you to read this book it is amazing.
